ABC/Heidi GutmanBillie Joe Armstrong rang in 2018 with a surprise New Year’s Eve performance at New York City’s Berlin, a tiny club located in the city’s Lower East Side neighborhood.
According to the Brooklyn Vegan, the Green Day frontman led an all-star band that included Tommy Stinson of The Replacements, Steven Van Zandt of Bruce Springsteen‘s E Street Band, The Hold Steady‘s Tad Kubler and Blondie‘s Clem Burke. The lineup also included Armstrong’s sons, Joey and Jakob.
The night included a variety of covers, including a performance of The Replacements track “Color Me Impressed.” You can watch footage of that now via Instagram.
