Bruce Dickinson to release “Scream for Me Sarajevo”

Eagle Rock Entertainment/BMGA heavy metal concert in the middle of a war zone? That’s what happened in 1994, when Bruce Dickinson and his band, Skunkworks, were smuggled into the bullet-riddled Bosnia and Herzegovina capital city of Sarajevo in the middle of the Bosnian War. The amazing show was captured on video — even more incredible in those days before video phones — resulting in a gritty live set that’ll be released as a feature film, a DVD and album, all called Scream for Me Sarajevo.

The film captures the historic concert and includes footage of the war and the citizens of Sarajevo. There’s also current commentary by Dickinson and his band mates, who discuss the long-term impact of witnessing such violent and heart-wrenching scenes.

Scream for Me Sarajevo will open in select theaters May 10.  More info’s available at ScreamforMeSarajevo.com.

The film will also be released in DVD, Blu-ray, and digital video format on June 29, which is also the release date for CD, double vinyl, and digital audio of the show. Pre-orders for all formats are being taken on the official website.
