ABC/Heidi GutmanGreen Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong has teamed up with Gibson to create a new signature Les Paul Junior guitar.
The model comes in three finishes: maraschino cherry, sonic blue and ebony. Armstrong says that he wants the guitar, which has a simple, two-tone design, to be a “blank canvas” for players to customize as they see fit.
“If kids want to sticker it, carve in it, paint it themselves, put their own identity to it, that’s what I always did with my guitars, that’s what I was always inspired [to do] in the punk scene,” Armstrong explains.

Armstrong recently wrapped up a tour with his new side project, The Longshot. The most recent Green Day album is 2016’s Revolution Radio.
