The folk-rock great and his former flame and recent duet partner Judy Collins have lined up another North American tour leg in support of their 2017 collaborative album, Everybody Knows.
The new series of dates kicks off with a September 11-12 engagement at the Musical Instrument Museum in Phoenix, Arizona, and runs through a November 19 show in Jacksonville, Florida.
Everybody Knows, which was released last September, features new versions of songs connected to the longtime friends’ shared musical history; covers of tunes by Leonard Cohen, The Traveling Wilburys, Bob Dylan, Tim Hardin and Sandy Denny; and one brand-new song penned by Judy, “River of Gold.”
On their most recent tour leg, Stills and Collins performed selections from Everybody Knows; the aforementioned Crosby, Stills & Nash classic “Suite: Judy Blue Eyes,” as well as other tunes by Stephen’s various groups; Joni Mitchell songs famously covered by Judy; a rendition of Tom Petty‘s “I Won’t Back Down”; and the new Collins composition “Dreamers.”
Collins recently released “Dreamers” as a digital single, and also debuted a video for the tune on her official YouTube channel. The song is sung from the perspective of an immigrant women who fears that her daughter will be deported.
