BMG/UniversalThe Rolling Stones‘ music has always been steeped in the blues, and now the band has helped curate a new compilation featuring classic songs by some of the blues artists that influenced them most.

Confessin’ the Blues, which will be released on November 9, includes tunes by such greats as Muddy Waters, Howlin’ Wolf, John Lee Hooker, Robert Johnson, Little Walter, Buddy Guy, Elmore James and Jimmy Reed, as well as by rock ‘n’ roll pioneers Chuck Berry and Bo Diddley.

The 42-track album will be available as a two-CD set, a five-disc 10-inch vinyl collection, and two separate two-LP 12-inch vinyl sets. You can order all of the configurations via The Rolling Stones’ official online store.

Confessin’ the Blues features original versions of almost all of the songs The Stones covered for their 2016 album Blue & Lonesome, as well as many other tunes the band recorded or played live over the years. Among them: Howlin’ Wolf’s “Little Red Rooster,” Berry’s “Carol” and “Little Queenie,” Slim Harpo‘s “I’m a King Bee,” Johnson’s “Love in Vain Blues,” Mississippi Fred McDowell‘s “You Gotta Move,” Dale Hawkins‘ “Suzie Q” and Waters’ “I Just Want to Make Love to You.”

Of course, the song that gave the band its name, Muddy Waters’ “Rollin’ Stone,” is also included.

Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood created the album’s cover art: a stylized painting of a bluesman.

Part of the proceeds from sales of Confessin’ the Blues will be donated to donated to Willie Dixon’s Blues Heaven Foundation, a charity dedicated to the preservation of blues music.
