Sunset Blvd. RecordsEagles bassist Timothy B. Schmit and Doobie Brothers multi-instrumentalist John McFee are featured on a new single by veteran soft-rock act Firefall: a cover of the 1970 Spirit track “Nature’s Way.”
Schmit shares lead vocals on the track with founding Firefall bass player Mark Andes, who also was an original member of Spirit. The song is available for purchase now as a digital download and via streaming services.
“Nature’s Way” was written by late Spirit frontman Randy California, and the ecology-themed tune became one of the band’s signature songs, although it didn’t even make it into the Billboard Hot 100.
Firefall is best known for their 1976 hit “You Are the Woman,” which reached #9 on the Hot 100. The group, whose original drummer was founding Byrds member Michael Clarke, had two other top 20 hits: 1977’s “Just Remember I Love You” and 1978’s “Strange Way,” both which peaked at #11.
