DigitalJournal.com reports that during show’s encore segment, Billy welcomed Bryan Adams to the stage. Adams belted out a rousing rendition of his 1985 hit “Summer of ’69” and duetted with Billy on a version of Billy’s 1980 smash “You May Be Right.” You can check out fan-shot footage of the performance on YouTube.

Bryan happened to be in New York City in connection with Pretty Woman, the new Broadway musical for which he co-wrote the music.

Earlier in the show, Billy brought one of his longtime touring band members, Crystal Taliefero, to center stage to belt out a rendition of Aretha Franklin‘s classic hit “Respect.”

In introducing the tune, Billy called Franklin “one of the greatest singers of all time.”

Billy’s next concert is scheduled for September 7 at Chicago’s Wrigley Field. His next Madison Square Garden show takes place September 30. Check out Billy’s full itinerary at BillyJoel.com.
