The now-defunct band, which played their final show on New Year’s Eve 2015, posted a photo Tuesday of bassist Nikki Sixx and drummer Tommy Lee together in the studio with producer Bob Rock. Rock produced the band’s landmark 1989 album Dr. Feelgood. The photo is dated August 28, 2018.
Lee also posted the photo on his Instagram with the caption, “It’s that new s***!” There’s no word on whether fellow Crue members Vince Neil and Mick Mars are also involved in whatever is happening.
Fans are speculating that Sixx and Lee could be working on music for the upcoming Motley Crue biopic The Dirt. The film, which is set to premiere on Netflix, is currently in post-production.
