Credit: Marta SzczesniakJust like his Moody Blues band mate John Lodge, Justin Hayward has plans to take part in a special cruise event early this year and follow it with a brief solo U.S. tour.
Hayward will be headlining the previously announced inaugural On the Blue Cruise, which sets sail from Miami on February 10 and will stop at Nassau in the Bahamas and the private isle of Labadee near Haiti before returning to port on February 15. The 72-year-old singer/guitarist then will launch a 10-date solo trek, which is mapped out from a February 16 concert in Delray Beach, Florida, through a March 3 show in Durham, North Carolina. Among the other cities Hayward will visit are Atlanta, Nashville and Charlotte, North Carolina.
Justin will be promoting his 2016 solo compilation All the Way on the tour.
Other artists set to perform during the On the Blue Cruise include The Zombies, Dave Mason, Rick Derringer, Procol Harum, ex-Genesis guitarist Steve Hackett, Alan Parsons, Vanilla Fudge, Al Stewart, Poco, Stephen Bishop, The Romantics‘ Wally Palmar, one-time Kansas frontman John Elefante, Wishbone Ash, founding Chicago drummer Danny Seraphine‘s band CTA, and Electric Light Orchestra spinoff group The Orchestra.
As previously reported, Lodge is part of the lineup of Yes’ 2019 Cruise to the Edge, taking place in early February, and he then has a five-date U.S. outing running from February 10 through the 16th.
The Moody Blues, who were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame this past April haven’t announced any touring plans for 2019.
