David Crosby wrapped up a U.S. tour in December with his Lighthouse Band, the group of musicians with whom he recorded his 2018 collaborative album, Here If You Listen, and his 2016 solo effort, Lighthouse. Now, Crosby has announced dates for a late-spring stateside trek with his other group, the Sky Trails Band.
The new tour gets underway May 10 in Minneapolis and is plotted out through a June 16 concert in Bar Harbor, Maine.
The Sky Trails Band features Crosby’s son, keyboardist James Raymond, and other musicians who contributed to the folk-rock legend’s 2017 solo album, Sky Trails. They include guitarist Jeff Pevar — who played with David and his son in the group CPR — one-time Crosby, Stills & Nash touring drummer Steve DiStanislao, bassist Mai Leisz, and singer/keyboardist Michelle Willis, who’s also a Lighthouse Band member.
Here If You Listen, Crosby’s latest album, was released this past October and was recorded with Willis, singer/guitarist Becca Stevens and Snarky Puppy frontman Michael League, all of whom accompanied David on his fall 2018 tour.
In November, Crosby told ABC Radio that he’d already been amassing new songs that he either had written or was in the process of writing with Snarky Puppy keyboardist Bill Laurance; Mai and her husband, Greg Leisz; acclaimed Americana artist Jason Isbell; and New York-based singer/songwriter/pianist Kenny White.
