BMGKeith Richards has debuted a lyric video for his cover of late Chicago bluesman Eddie Taylor‘s “Big Town Playboy,” one of six previously unreleased bonus tracks featured on the upcoming reissue of the Rolling Stones guitarist’s 1988 debut solo album, Talk Is Cheap.
Richards’ rendition of the 1950s blues tune features contributions from ex-Rolling Stones guitarist Mick Taylor and Chuck Berry‘s longtime piano player, the late Johnnie Johnson.
The video includes pics of Keith from the Talk Is Cheap cover photo shoot, segments where Richards’ metal skull ring is singing the song, and images of the guitarist’s arm holding a lit cigarette. Watch the clip now at KeithRichards.com and at Richards’ official YouTube channel.
“Big Town Playboy” also is available for purchase now as a digital single and via streaming services. Fans pre-ordering the Talk Is Cheap reissue also will receive a free download of the track.
The 30th anniversary edition of Talk Is Cheap will be released on March 29, and will be available as a CD, a vinyl LP, digitally and as Deluxe and Super Deluxe box sets.
The Talk Is Cheap box sets features 180-gram vinyl and CD versions of the original 11-song album, plus extra discs with the six bonus tracks. The expanded collections also include two seven-inch vinyl singles; an 80-page hardback book; and various pieces of memorabilia. The Super Deluxe box set comes packaged in a hand-built case made to resemble Richards’ prized Fender electric guitar nicknamed “Micawber.”
Five copies of the limited-edition Super Deluxe collection will go on display for eight weeks starting March 22 at hotels around the world — Karma Sanctum Soho in London; 25hours Hotel Bikini in Berlin; O.D. Barcelona in Barcelona, Spain; L’Hotel Paris; and Andaz in West Hollywood, California.
