Credit: David McClisterCheap Trick will take part in a special benefit gala honoring acclaimed songwriter and producer Linda Perry scheduled for Saturday, June 29, at the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles.
The event, dubbed Linda Perry & Friends: A Night at the Grammy Museum, will raise funds for the Grammy Museum Foundation, which supports music-education programs and other initiatives.
Other artists and celebs participating in the event include Sharon Osbourne, Juliette Lewis and Perry’s wife, Sara Gilbert.
Perry began her career as the frontwoman of 4 Non Blondes. Among the many well-known artists she’s collaborated with are Pink, Christina Aguilera, Joan Jett & the Blackhearts, Gwen Stefani, Courtney Love, Dolly Parton and Cheap Trick.
She’ll be recognized for her many creative achievements as a producer and songwriter, and for her charitable work through We Are Hear, a combination record label, publishing house and production and management company she co-founded in 2017.
“I’m honored that my dearest friends, colleagues, and collaborators who have supported me throughout my life will now come together to help me raise awareness for the Grammy Museum’s education initiatives,” says Perry.
“Music education should not be a luxury and with the help of these visionaries and this community, we hope to play a small part of sparking creativity and inspiring future songwriters, producers, and musicians.”
Meanwhile, in the coming days, Cheap Trick will be serving as an opening act — along with Bad Company — for ZZ Top‘s three 50th anniversary Texas Bash shows. They’re scheduled for this Friday, Saturday and Sunday, respectively, in Dallas, The Woodlands and Del Valle.
