Among the well-known veteran artists scheduled to play shows this evening are a number of Rock & Roll Hall of Famers including John Fogerty, ZZ Top, Journey, Cheap Trick and Lynyrd Skynyrd.
Fogerty, the former frontman of Creedence Clearwater Revival, will be wrapping up his 2019 My 50 Year Trip tour with a concert at WinStar World Casino & Resort in Thackerville, Oklahoma. The trek celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Woodstock festival and of a landmark year for CCR.
ZZ Top closes out the 2019 portion of the Texas trio’s 50th anniversary trek with a concert at a different Oklahoma casino — the Choctaw Casino & Resort in Durant.
Journey will be ringing in 2020 in Las Vegas, as the band finishes up a four-show engagement at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace.
Cheap Trick, who spent much of 2019 as the opening act on ZZ Top’s trek, also will close out the year at a casino — Treasure Island Resort & Casino in Welch, Minnesota.
As for Lynyrd Skynyrd, the Southern rock legends will be headlining a special concert at American Airlines Center in Dallas as part of a week-long celebration held in conjunction with the 2020 NHL Winter Classic hockey game. The show is the final stop on the 2019 leg of the group’s Last of the Street Survivors Farewell Tour.
Meanwhile, Stevie Nicks will make a guest appearance at country star Keith Urban‘s set at Nashville’s free New Year’s Eve concert, dubbed Jack Daniel’s Music City Midnight, which is held at Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park.
