Host Michelle Marques talks with Linda Tams, spokesperson for the 2024 St. George Greek and Middle Eastern Food Festival - A Taste of Greece and the Middle East under the Sonoma County Sun! The festival is happening in the parking lot of St. George Greek Orthodox Church on College View Drive in Rohnert Park, Saturday and Sunday, September 28th and 29th from noon to 7pm each day. Enjoy live music and entertainment, authentic Mediterranean cuisine, traditional dance, arts, a marketplace, and more! Proceeds benefit the local community. Host Michelle Marques talks with Matthew Jensen, DAV Life Member of Chapter 48 and Iraq War Combat Veteran, David Bailey, State Commander DAV Auxiliary, and Sonu Chandi, President of Chandi Hospitality and owner of many Mountain Mike's Pizza locations in the Bay Area. Our conversation today is about the challenges that veterans experience returning from combat and transitioning back to civilian life, and what the organization Disabled American Veterans does to support vets. The local Chapter 48 of DAV is establishing a Volunteer Transportation Network to get vets to their appointments. Learn more about how you can help by visiting dav48sonoma.org Mountain Mike's Pizza will be hosting a fundraiser to support Disabled American Veterans on Wednesday, September 11th at their location on Santa Rosa Avenue (1150 Santa Rosa Avenue.) From 9:30am to 11am there will be an informal gathering for veterans, first responders, and their families and friends. There will be music, speakers, and organizations on site. Mountain Mike's is donating a portion of proceeds (eat in, take out, or delivery!) that day to Disabled American Veterans. Host Michelle Marques talks with artist Suzanne Edminster, the founder of a new open studios event called Santa Rosa Open Studios. Visit open studios in Santa Rosa and find your next favorite artist! A new event has been established called "Santa Rosa Open Studios" and will feature over 70 different artist studios within the city limits of Santa Rosa. Over two weekends, you can visit artist studios and see a wide variety of mediums, and see the art your neighbors are creating!
