Sonoma County Focus – Disabled American Veterans

Host Michelle Marques talks with Matthew Jensen, DAV Life Member of Chapter 48 and Iraq War Combat Veteran, David Bailey, State Commander DAV Auxiliary, and Sonu Chandi, President of Chandi Hospitality and owner of many Mountain Mike's Pizza locations in the Bay Area. Our conversation today is about the challenges that veterans experience returning from combat and transitioning back to civilian life, and what the organization Disabled American Veterans does to support vets. The local Chapter 48 of DAV is establishing a Volunteer Transportation Network to get vets to their appointments. Learn more about how you can help by visiting dav48sonoma.org Mountain Mike's Pizza will be hosting a fundraiser to support Disabled American Veterans on Wednesday, September 11th at their location on Santa Rosa Avenue (1150 Santa Rosa Avenue.) From 9:30am to 11am there will be an informal gathering for veterans, first responders, and their families and friends. There will be music, speakers, and organizations on site. Mountain Mike's is donating a portion of proceeds (eat in, take out, or delivery!) that day to Disabled American Veterans.
